AINO RÄISÄNEN
This person has been an active member of the guild since the very beginning of their fuksi year. They have shown initiative towards their board role before it even began, and since joining the board officially this spring, they have taken on extra voluntary corporate relations responsibilities when the board needed them most. They steer our guild’s newcomers with joy and passion. For many more joyful moments to come, they deserve recognition for the efforts they’ve made.
SUVI YLKÄNEN & CRISTINA CHULILLA BERROCAL
For this mention of merit, it will not be presented to one person, but to a duo who have done so much to build the guild’s community. While these people have individually made Urbanum a warm and inviting space, when together, their creativity is unstoppable. These individuals have the undying passion to communicate joy throughout Urbanum. They have taken the initiative to develop a newsletter from scratch and set up an active TikTok account for us. Without them, we would have no idea what happens every week!
KIERAN HEGARTY
This person takes care of the wellbeing of our members in their day-to-day life. They gather compliments from inside and outside of the guild on making the member’s space, our guildroom, a cozy and heartwarming place to spend time. They’ve gone beyond expectations in mediating coffee brand disputes and delivering tea on the day of request. They always make sure to include everyone and take everyone in their own excitement.
PYRY PUUMALAINEN
For the next awardee, it is not an overstatement to say that they have tutored almost all Urbanum fuksis, well at least half of them by now. Regardless of not being a SUD student themselves, they are an Urbanum member not only by having paid the membership, but also by heart. They are the godfather of all tutors and have taken Urbanum fuksis under their wing showing them a route to teekkari culture outside of Urbanum. They are a blessing to our way that we did not expect to have.
Member of the Year
This is a separate category specifically for one person who embodies the joyous attitude of our guild to internal and external communities.
AINO LEPPINIEMI
As outlined, the Member of the Year title is awarded to an individual who embodies our guild’s joyous attitude to everyone, whether they are inside or outside the guild. It’s safe to say this person won this award based on the sheer number of nominations mentioning them for this. And it’s not surprising, since they seem to always be around to give a helping hand, whether casually at the guild room or sharing the burden of others’ board duties. Whenever they are around, it’s safe to say you will end up smiling or laughing within the next five minutes. Additionally to her sunny attitude and willingness to help, she has done so much in building up our guild and bridging connections to other guilds.
Recognition of Long Service
This is a separate category specifically for the person(s) who have contributed significantly to Urbanum for three (3) or more years
AURORA LUUKKANEN
This person has worked for Urbanum countless hours, put in effort to drive the guild forward, and shaped a lot of what the guild is now. Their contribution to different sectors of the guild for several board terms has set some of the very first milestones that Urbanum has reached as a guild. They embody what Urbanum is about and they carry that with pride. Their commitment to Urbanum has led them to have expertise in many sectors and made them a competent, innovative, and inspiring leader. We are very grateful for them and their long service to the Urbanum community.
JENNA TUOMINEN
This person cannot be discarded when talking about the development of Urbanum as a guild. Their ideas and work for one specific sector of the board have steered the guild in our own personal direction. They have given their time and effort to set a solid foundation for all incoming students. We owe all the incredible memories many of us had during our Fuksi year to this person. Their devotion to their work is beyond admirable, and we are eternally grateful for all they have done.
Though we can go on about how thankful we are for this person, no words of gratitude could ever measure up to the actions of this person.
